Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and motivated Research Scientist to join our cutting-edge research initiatives. In this position you will work on challenging problems related to machine learning, numerical simulation, fluid dynamics, and HPC system implementations. This position offers a unique blend of scientific research, software development, and practical application, with opportunities for collaboration with leading universities and government labs. 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cutting-edge research in high-performance computing, numerical simulation, and machine learning.
  • Publish research findings in reputable conferences and journals.
  • Collaborate on proposal development for government funded research projects.
  • Develop novel algorithms and techniques for solving complex scientific and engineering problems.
  • Develop and optimize numerical simulations for fluid dynamics, structural analysis, and other scientific domains.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ML models into HPC workflows.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in HPC, scientific/numerical simulation, ML Frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX), and related technologies.
  • Contribute to a collaborative research environment including research partners (leading universities and government laboratories) and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. or M.S. in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or other engineering fields with a strong computational physics and/or Machine Learning.
  • Strong background in high-performance computing, parallel programming, and numerical methods.
  • Good understanding of computational linear algebra and applied mathematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid programming skills in Python, C++, Rust, CUDA, SYCL, OpenCL, and/or OpenMP.
  • Experience with distributed computing and cloud-based HPC platforms.
  • Contributions to open-source projects related to HPC and/or ML.
  • Experience with fluid dynamics simulations, finite element analysis, or computational physics.
  • Proficiency in at least one popular Machine Learning Frameworks.
